Tokyo, Dec. 19th, 2017 – Solar Frontier Americas Development, a leading U.S. solar developer and subsidiary of the world’s largest CIS solar energy solutions provider, Solar Frontier, announced today it completed the sale of its solar power project, Midway I to X-ELIO, a global developer and operator of solar plants headquartered in Spain. X-ELIO became the solar development vehicle of KKR, a multinational investment firm, in 2015. The 66 MWDC solar power plant is located in Imperial County, a few miles northwest of Calipatria, California.

The project has been financed by Santander Global Corporate Banking, a division of Santander Bank and Prudential Capital Group under a hybrid debt and fixed rate notes structure that covers the entire contracted period. Tax equity is being provided by U.S. Bancorp Community Development Corporation, a division of U.S. Bank. Still under construction, the project will commence operations in the next months and will supply renewable energy under two power purchase agreements, during a total period of 23 years.

TOKYO, Sept. 12, 2017 – Solar Frontier Americas Development, a leading U.S. solar developer and subsidiary of the world’s largest CIS solar energy solutions provider, Solar Frontier, announced today it has sold two fully developed solar project sites to Capital Dynamics. Located in Fresno County, just South of San Joaquin, California, the sites combined have a planned capacity of 28 megawatts DC. Capital Dynamics, a Swiss-based asset management company investing in private equity and clean energy infrastructure, plans to execute construction on the projects. The projects are packaged with permits and power purchase agreements (PPA) with Pacific Gas & Electric.

TOKYO, April 11, 2017 – Solar Frontier Americas, U.S. subsidiary of the world’s largest CIS solar energy solutions provider, Solar Frontier, announced today it has sold its 40 megawatts (DC) (30 megawatts AC), Midway II solar power plant to a subsidiary of Dominion Energy Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Dominion Resources, Inc., one of the leading energy suppliers in the country. Dominion serves more than 6 million utility and retail energy customers throughout the U.S.

The Midway II Project, located in the Imperial County of California, is constructed with approximately 242,000 Solar Frontier advanced CIS solar modules mounted on NEXTracker’s high performance single-axis solar trackers. The project has a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with the Imperial Irrigation District (the third largest public power utility in California serving the Imperial Valley) for the electricity produced by the plant.

Midway II (sited on 320-acres northwest of Calipatria, California) is part of Solar Frontier America’s 106 megawatts (DC) Midway projects portfolio. In total, Solar Frontier Americas’ project pipeline has over 400 megawatts of solar projects in various stages of development.

Located in California’s Imperial County, Midway I is 67 MWp and has an executed power purchase agreement (PPA) with Pacific Gas & Electric. Midway II, also located in Imperial County, is 40 MWp and has a PPA with the Imperial Irrigation District.

Managing both projects is Solar Frontier Americas Development, the utility-scale project development division of Solar Frontier Americas. The division is comprised of an experienced team offering development expertise, substantial financial resources and a network of industry relationships to ensure solar projects are successfully executed on schedule. Blattner Energy is providing EPC services, Power Electronics will supply inverters and NEXTracker will supply its NX Horizon™　single-axis trackers for increased energy yields.

Tokyo, January 27th, 2016 – Solar Frontier Americas Development, a utility-scale solar project developer and financier of high-performing solar projects and subsidiary of Solar Frontier, announced today that it will hold a ribbon cutting event for Calipatria, its 20 MW solar project currently nearing completion in the Imperial Valley of California. Solar Frontier Americas Development, one of the largest solar developers in Imperial County, will host government and local officials at the project site near the county seat of El Centro, California.

The Calipatria project will deliver approximately 52,200 MWh of clean energy per year – enough energy to power almost 5,000 homes along with offsetting over 39,000 tons of carbon dioxide annually. The solar energy plant project generated dozens of jobs and employed local workers in Imperial County. Over the lifetime of the solar plant, it will pay hundreds of thousands of dollars in local sales and property taxes and will help contribute to the local economy.

Senator Ben Hueso, representative of the 40th district, has actively worked to create policies that would support renewable energy projects in Imperial County. “I’m pleased with the Solar Frontier Americas solar project and the benefits of job creation and local economic support it’s brought to Imperial Valley,” said Senator Hueso.
